As most residents are aware, Corix Utilities had planned to increase the Heritage Pointe Wastewater Flat Rate in early 2020. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this increase was postponed until 2021.
A Wastewater Flat Rate increase of 3% has been deemed necessary to help offset increases in day-to-day operations and maintenance costs, capital replacement costs, and ongoing improvements to the wastewater collection and treatment system.
Effective March 20, 2021, the current residential monthly base rate of $84.19 will increase to $86.60. Commercial customers with a single service will see an increase of $119.46 to $123.10 per month.
This increase does not affect Potable water rates. Those are regulated by the Alberta Utilities Commission and are not changing at this time.
